How it Works: 4. What we don’t do / won’t do
We will never:
- Release or sell your contact details. Obviously some activity on Facebook and Spotify or other social platforms is determined by their privacy controls, not ours.
- Use algorithms to figure out what sort of music you like – it will always be people selecting music they love. You choose to follow people whose taste you believe gels with yours.
- Promote music or a business we don’t like or don’t agree with, and we’ll always do our best to weed out spam on our social pages.
- Tell you we love something that we don’t, just because we are being paid
- Tolerate bullying, hate language, obscenity (except perhaps in song lyrics!) or anything other than positive, constructive feedback on our social pages.
That is our firm pledge to you.
We don’t plan to:
- Have advertising on the site
- Use cookies, except to help navigation
- Have deals with record labels – but we are happy to work direct with independent artists
- Charge our listeners for the basic service. We may introduce premium services at a later date.
We hope we never need to, it’s not what we are about
We don’t:
- Have deals to promote specific artists. That’s not to say we never will, but you will always know the difference between music that we choose just because it’s great, and music that is sponsored by a patron who thinks you are the type of audience that their music will appeal to.
- Have a specific release schedule for new playlists. It takes as long as it takes to find the best.
- Use any other streaming service than Spotify right now. Too complicated! But we may in future.
